If there was a perfect time to publish an album that elevates self-reliance , self awareness, consciousness, meditation as well as strength of a woman – that time is now. After her first two albums “New Name” and “9”, third album “Note To Self” has a whole new meaning where present Jah9 is talking to her younger version, reassuring that she can, and should, keep going because no matter what she’s facing today, she will get through it. Of course, she is passing her experience to the listener in order to strengthen confidence and readjust life compass towards self being.

Album consists of the hits that have been released earlier like “Heaven (Ready Fi Di Feeling)”, “Love Has Found I” (Personal favorite), Ma’at. And each song has a different “heartbeat”, different message, different tone – for example poetic moments in “The Reflection”, “Mindstorm”, “In The Beginning” to a jazzy song like “Could It Be”.

So when you listen to this album you’ve got a feeling that Jah9 is speaking to you “I want to talk with you, listen to what I have to say.”. Most of the artists nowadays release albums that have solely a goal to reach heights in the music business. Jah9 did something completely different, she opened her mind and soul. If you would ask me to describe whole album in one word, it would be “healing”.

The Reggae songstress made sure that this project represents the best
of her, and her wish for all fans to live life with elevated
consciousness. This elevation is not just for the mind, but for the
body as well, understanding that mind and body make up our existence.

Once again and as with her previous albums, you’ll appreciate the sonic exploration and the approach producers Jeremy Harding, Clive Hunt, Romario ‘Runkus’ Bennett, Iotosh Poyser, Romaine Arnett and Jah9 take to deliver this excellent body of work. Your guaranteed to have a few favorites.
